Message From Mike Coup,
President, Wichita Theatre Organ

Dear Concert Goers,

We are announcing the schedule of events for the Wichita Wurlitzer!

Solo Organ Performance: Sunday afternoon, April 28, 2pm Century II Exhibition Hall. - A very special concert using multi-media and solo guest artist, Pierre Fracalanza. This concert will bring new magic to your enjoyment of the glorious sounds of the Mighty Wurlitzer. Maestro Fracalanza has created special video features to enhance his solo organ performance, in an entirely new concept for concert presentations. Don't miss it!

Reserved table seating is available on first purchase first served basis.

On Saturday night April 27, starting at 7pm, join Pierre at the Little River Studio for an evening of music in a party atmosphere. Plenty of food and refreshments will be served. This is a new format for all of us, so please give it a try. Seating is limited, so order tickets early.

Tickets for the Sunday afternoon concert at Century II are $15.00 each or $100 for a table of 8.

Tickets for the Saturday night Little River Studio musical party are $20 each. BYOB.

During the summer months, we will be presenting 3 silent film performances on weeks when Music Theatre is not presenting a show. These will be announced in subsequent publications.

You may wonder what happened to the plan for 2 solo concerts instead of just one. Wichita Theatre Organ (WTO) is a not-for-profit organization with no paid employees or officers. We depend on volunteers in order to run and staff our programs. Unfortunately we encountered several problems this year that affected our organization, ranging from volunteer health issues to major technical system failures. All combined, the lead time had become simply too short and we could not accomplish what we had originally planned.

In future years, we will do our very best to return to 2 solo performances each season, but we do need help, both in terms of volunteers and financial. The organ, as I'm sure you all know, is not funded by the City, but rather completely by WTO. In recent years, the series has not even been close to breaking even, so your support is truly critical. We do pay the artists who visit us from all over the world. The City does charge rent, and has increased it substantially in the future, and organ maintenance must be paid for. We just ask your understanding and any support you can give.

Thank you very much for your understanding and patronage.

Michael C. Coup
